RNC Goes Black (Will They Ever Go Back?)

Michael Steele has been named the chairman of the Republican National Committee. Steele is the first African-American chairman of the RNC, or as the GOP likes to call him, Steele is their HNIC (Head Nigger In Charge). At first glance it might seem that this is progressive move for the GOP, but keep in mind these are the same dumb fucks that had McCain running with Sarah Palin, and touted that stupid broad as some sort of breath of fresh air for the Republican Party. But just as I compared the vice presidential nomination of Palin to the classic Hammer horror film Frankenstein Created Woman (read it here), I must now compare Steele’s position to one of the worst films of all time, a piece of shit blaxploitation film called Blackenstein.

As anyone can tell you, Blackenstein was a 1970s blaxploitation take of the classic Frankenstein. Unfortunately, Blackenstein was and continues to be one of the most abysmal films ever made. It is a pale imitation of Frankenstein, only in blackface to give it some sort of progressive spin—as if making Frankenstein’s monster black was somehow going to make it more interesting. The end result is a pathetic excuse of the same old monster we know, only with some big-ass, Unbangi lips and a fucked up afro. Well, I suspect that Michael Steele is bit like Blackenstein—nothing more than a dark-skinned version of the same old monster.

The RNC’s selection of Steele is a pathetic attempt to appear forward thinking, and more important a glaring example of the myopic way Republican’s see things. The main reason Steele was selected was because he is black, just like President Obama. That’s all that matters to the Republicans. They figure that if the American people elected a Negro as president, then maybe they should have a high ranking Negro to call their own. Steele’s selection is also reflective of the RNC’s belief that just because all black people look alike, no one will ever bother to see the ideological differences between their boy and Obama. It would all be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.
